 About Trip

The Nar Phu Valley Trek is one of Nepal’s most hidden and off-the-beaten-path trekking adventures, tucked deep within the Annapurna region. This remote Himalayan trail offers a rare opportunity to explore traditional villages, ancient Buddhist monasteries, and untouched alpine landscapes, giving trekkers an authentic glimpse into the lives of local communities. Opened to outsiders only in 2002, Nar Phu remains a secret paradise for adventure seekers, photographers, and cultural explorers seeking serenity away from crowded trekking routes.

The trek begins along the Annapurna Circuit Trail up to Koto, before branching east into the remote Nar and Phu villages. These settlements are home to Bhotia, Gurung, and Lama communities, who practice high-altitude farming and preserve their traditional Buddhist culture. Over approximately 15 days, trekkers traverse a variety of landscapes including narrow canyons, alpine valleys, terraced farmlands, and rugged mountain terrain. The trail is known for its pristine natural beauty, cultural authenticity, and remote Himalayan charm, making it a top choice for those looking for an off-the-beaten-path adventure.

A key highlight of the Nar Phu Trek is crossing high mountain passes that offer unparalleled panoramic views. Kang La Pass (5,200m) provides breathtaking vistas of surrounding peaks and valleys, while the Thorong La Pass (5,416m)—one of the highest trekking passes in the world—delivers a challenging yet rewarding high-altitude experience. From these vantage points, trekkers can admire snow-capped giants like Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, and Manaslu, perfect for mountain photography and adventure enthusiasts.

This trek allows travelers to immerse in the untouched Himalayan environment, experience authentic local culture, and traverse some of Nepal’s most scenic and secluded landscapes. Remote trails, alpine valleys, cultural villages, and majestic mountain views make the Nar Phu Valley Trek a truly unique Himalayan adventure, ideal for anyone seeking nature, culture, and high-altitude exploration.

Wake up to spectacular Himalayan sunrises, explore ancient monasteries, interact with the Bhotia, Gurung, and Lama communities, cross challenging high passes, and enjoy the serene beauty of Nar and Phu valleys—a once-in-a-lifetime trekking experience in the heart of the Annapurna region.
