  About Trip

Chisapani Trek is a short, scenic, and satisfying trekking experience well suited for novice trekkers, low-budget travelers, or those who do not have much time to spare around Kathmandu Valley. Although short, the trek offers a great mixture of Himalayan views, cultural heritage sites, and natural beauty, making it one of the most popular and renowned trekking routes in Nepal.

The trek starts at Sundarijal, a mere one-hour drive from Kathmandu, and winds through closed forests, rice terraces, and villages, ending up at the historic Changu Narayan Temple, one of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Along the way, the trekkers are treated to breathtaking views of the Ganesh Himal, Langtang Himal, and Everest range, against the backdrop of the tranquility of the Nepalese countryside.

HIGHLIGHTS OF TREKKING
Sunrise and sunset spots at Chisapani and Nagarkot offer panoramic vistas of the Himalayan ranges that create life-long memories. The trek follows jungle tracks full of local flora and fauna, rural villages, and fields and offers a perfect glimpse of rural life and culture.

Nagarkot at 2,175 meters is a famous hill station and view point, which gives stunning sunrises and sunsets over the Himalayas. It was once an ancient fort and a royal summer palace, and now it is a short trek away from Kathmandu and a "must-see" destination.

The trek concludes at Changu Narayan Temple, which is Nepal's oldest Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu and has wood, stone, and metal carvings in Pagoda-style traditional architecture. With spiritual and historical essence added to the trekking experience, a visit to the temple concludes the natural and cultural adventure.
