  • Day 1: Paro Arrival – Transfer to Thimphu. Fly into Paro, drive to Thimphu. Visit Kuensel Phodrang, Memorial Chorten, Takin Preserve, Tashichho Dzong, and local craft bazaar. (L/D)
  • Day 2: Thimphu – Punakha Transfer. Drive via Dochula Pass (108 chortens). Visit Druk Wangyal Lhakhang, Chimi Lhakhang, and Punakha Dzong. Evening village stroll. (B/L/D)
  • Day 3: Punakha – Return to Paro. Drive back to Paro. Explore the National Museum (Ta Dzong) and Paro Dzong (Rinpung Dzong). (B/L/D)

Details Itinerary

  • Day 1: Paro Arrival and Transfer to Thimphu: Your journey begins with a scenic flight into Paro International Airport, where you will be greeted by your guide and transferred for one hour to the capital city, Thimphu. After checking into your hotel, you will visit the massive Buddha Dordenma at Kuensel Phodrang, the iconic National Memorial Chorten, and the unique Takin Preserve, home to Bhutan's national animal. The day concludes with a visit to the impressive Tashichho Dzong, the seat of government, followed by a wander through a local craft bazaar to experience the vibrant culture and find unique souvenirs.
  • Day 2: Thimphu to Punakha Transfer for Sightseeing: After breakfast, you will embark on a 2.5-hour drive to the tranquil valley of Punakha, crossing the famous Dochula Pass where you can admire the 108 memorial chortens and, on clear days, the stunning Himalayan mountain ranges. Upon arrival in Punakha, you will explore the fascinating Chimi Lhakhang, known as the fertility temple, and the magnificent Punakha Dzong, a stunning architectural masterpiece set at the confluence of two rivers. Your day will end with a peaceful stroll through local villages, offering a genuine opportunity to interact with residents and learn about their traditional daily life.
  • Day 3: Back to Paro from Punakha: Today you will travel back to the picturesque valley of Paro, where your adventure began. After checking into your hotel, you will delve into Bhutan's history and art at the National Museum (Ta Dzong), housed in a historic watchtower and filled with exquisite local artworks. You will then visit the impressive Paro Dzong (Rinpung Dzong), a striking example of Bhutanese architecture that offers beautiful views of the river and the surrounding valley below.
  • Day 4: Hike to Taktsang (Tiger's Nest) Monastery: This day is dedicated to the spiritual and scenic highlight of your tour: the hike to the sacred Taktsang Monastery, or Tiger's Nest. The approximately 2.5-hour uphill trek rewards you with breathtaking views of this incredible complex clinging to a sheer cliff face. You can take a rest at the scenic view terrace halfway up to catch your breath and soak in the scenery. On your way back down, you will visit the ancient Kyichu Lhakhang, one of Bhutan's oldest and most sacred temples, before returning to your hotel in Paro.
