The Round Annapurna Base Camp Trek (RABC) is Nepal’s ultimate three-week trekking adventure, combining the best of both the Annapurna Circuit Trek and Annapurna Base Camp Trek. This epic journey allows trekkers to encircle the entire Annapurna massif, experiencing panoramic Himalayan views, cultural immersion, and high-altitude adventure in one extraordinary expedition. From lush subtropical valleys to rugged alpine terrain, sacred temples to soothing natural hot springs, this trek offers a complete Himalayan experience for serious trekkers, photographers, and adventure enthusiasts.

Your journey begins with a scenic drive from Kathmandu to Bhulbhule, following the beautiful Marsyangdi River valley. The trail gradually ascends through terraced farmlands, dense forests, and charming traditional villages, offering stunning views of waterfalls, rivers, and local rural life. As you reach Manang Valley, the landscape transforms into arid high-altitude terrain, providing dramatic Himalayan vistas. Acclimatization activities here include excursions to Chongkor Viewpoint, Gangapurna Glacier, and nearby Buddhist monasteries, blending adventure with cultural discovery.

The trek continues over the challenging Thorong La Pass (5,416m / 17,769 ft), one of the highest trekking passes in the world, offering 360-degree Himalayan panoramas of Annapurna, Gangapurna, and Dhaulagiri ranges. Descending into the mystical Mustang region, trekkers explore Kagbeni, Jharkot, and the sacred Muktinath Temple, a revered site for both Hindus and Buddhists. A jeep ride brings you to Tatopani, where rejuvenating natural hot springs offer a welcome rest.

From Tatopani, the trek ascends to Ghorepani, the gateway to Poon Hill (3,210m), famed for sunrise views over Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, and Manaslu ranges. Continuing toward Annapurna Base Camp, the trail winds through rhododendron forests, traditional Gurung villages, and Machhapuchhre Base Camp, culminating at the Annapurna Sanctuary (4,130m). Here, the golden morning light illuminates Annapurna, Hiunchuli, Machhapuchhre, and Gangapurna, creating a once-in-a-lifetime alpine spectacle.

The final descent leads through Chhomrong village to Jhinu Danda, where another dip in a natural hot spring offers relaxation before returning to Pokhara, a serene lakeside city. This trek perfectly blends adventure, culture, natural beauty, and spiritual experiences, making it one of the most complete Himalayan journeys in Nepal.

DETAIL TINERARY

The road gradually transitions into the Marsyangdi Valley as you enter the Annapurna region. Upon reaching Bhulbhule, a quiet riverside settlement surrounded by green hills and waterfalls, you settle into the lower trekking region and prepare for the adventure ahead.
  • Day 02: Trek from Bhulbhule to Jagat (1300m), Walking Distance: 16 km, Duration: 6–7 hours. The trek officially begins along the Marsyangdi River, passing through lush subtropical forests, suspension bridges, and traditional villages like Ngadi and Bahundanda. The trail involves gradual uphill climbs with occasional steep sections and river crossings. As you ascend, you experience changing vegetation, local Gurung culture, and peaceful Himalayan countryside before reaching Jagat, a stone-built village nestled against cliffs and hillsides.
  • Day 03: Trek from Jagat to Dharapani (1860m), Walking Distance: 15 km, Duration: 6–7 hours. Today’s trail continues deeper into the Marsyangdi Valley, following narrow gorges, rocky cliffs, and dense forests. You pass villages like Chamje and Tal, where the landscape begins to show Tibetan influence. The route includes multiple suspension bridge crossings and gradual elevation gain, offering views of waterfalls and steep canyon walls before arriving at Dharapani, a cultural gateway to the Manang region.
  • Day 04: Trek from Dharapani to Chame (2670m), Walking Distance: 15 km, Duration: 6–7 hours. The trail ascends steadily through pine and fir forests, with occasional clearings offering dramatic views of Lamjung Himal and Annapurna II. You pass traditional villages such as Bagarchhap and Timang, where Tibetan-style architecture and prayer flags become more prominent. The route becomes more alpine and peaceful as you approach Chame, the administrative center of Manang district, known for its hot springs and mountain scenery.
  • Day 05: Trek from Chame to Pisang (3300m), Walking Distance: 13.7 km, Duration: 5–6 hours. The path follows the Marsyangdi River through deep valleys and dense pine forests, gradually opening into wider landscapes with fewer trees. You pass through Bratang and cross several suspension bridges while enjoying clear views of Annapurna II and Pisang Peak. The trail offers two routes—upper and lower—with the upper route providing stunning views of Annapurna range, Gangapurna, and Tilicho Peak. Passing through traditional Tibetan-influenced villages like Ghyaru and Ngawal, you descend into Manang, a culturally rich settlement surrounded by glaciers and snow-capped peaks.
  • Day 07: Acclimatization day in Manang (3540m), Walking Duration: 4–5 hours. This rest day is crucial for altitude adaptation. You explore Manang village, visit ancient monasteries, and take short hikes toward Gangapurna Lake or Bhojo Gompa viewpoints. • Day 08: Trek from Manang to Yak Kharka (4018m), Walking Distance: 10.4 km, Duration: 3–4 hours. The trail climbs gradually above Manang, leaving behind permanent settlements and entering yak grazing pastures and alpine meadows. Vegetation becomes sparse, and the air noticeably thinner. • Day 09: Trek from Yak Kharka to Thorang Phedi (4450m), Walking Distance: 7.3 km, Duration: 3–4 hours. As you approach Thorang Phedi, the landscape becomes barren and dramatic, marking the final base before the Thorong La crossing.
  • Day 10: Cross Thorong La Pass (5416m) and trek to Muktinath (3760m), Walking Distance: 15 km, Duration: 7–8 hours. This is the most challenging and rewarding day of the entire trek.
