Overview

Begin your journey in the heart of Kathmandu, where bustling streets and ancient temples serve as the calm before the climb. After warm-up rides through the valley’s backroads, the adventure pushes north into the legendary Annapurna region one of the world’s most diverse and dramatic mountain biking routes. The ride threads through subtropical forests, deep river gorges, alpine valleys, and high-altitude deserts, constantly shifting terrain and mood. You pass remote villages, ancient monasteries, and cultivated fields carved into impossible slopes, meeting Manangi and Mustang communities whose lives are shaped by altitude and endurance.

As the trail gains height, the scenery turns raw and elemental. Snow-capped giants of the Annapurna Himalayas and Manaslu dominate the skyline. Side trips lead toward Tilicho Lake, one of the world’s highest freshwater lakes, before the ultimate test: crossing Thorung La Pass at 5,416 meters. One of the longest, most technical downhill rides on Earth dropping from high alpine wilderness into the Kali Gandaki valley, finishing with hot springs, culture, and a quiet sense of victory.
