 About Trip

The Langtang Valley trek transcends a mere journey; it embodies an emotionally profound experience. Situated in one of Nepal's most scenic areas, the Langtang Valley was once beloved by trekkers for its stunning vistas, cultural richness, and the inviting warmth of its homestay guesthouses, all within easy reach from Kathmandu.

Presently, the valley welcomes fewer tourists as the tenacious community of Langtang perseveres in reconstructing their lives post the catastrophic 2015 earthquake. Survivors of the quake-triggered landslides were compelled to evacuate, yet have since returned to revive their abodes and livelihoods.

Trekking in Langtang serves as a direct investment in the local economy, fostering sustainable and robust rebuilding initiatives. This endeavor is not merely about aid; it represents the influential role of responsible tourism in effecting positive change, enabling visitors to assist the inhabitants in a manner that honors their self-respect, heritage, and way of life. Trekking here is not only about appreciating the grandeur of nature but also engaging with the resilient spirit of humanity, contributing to the community's restoration.

The expedition commences in Syabru Besi, a charming village that marks the beginning of a journey through magnificent forests, leading to the highland meadows and yak fields adjacent to Kyangjin Gompa, a tranquil Buddhist monastery. A voluntary day trek to the summit of Kyangjin Ri (4,773m) rewards trekkers with a breathtaking panoramic view of the Himalayan range. The trek concludes with a descent back to Kathmandu.

For those with limited time but flexible budgets, a helicopter flight from Kyanjin offers a rapid return coupled with extraordinary views from above.
